Vineet began singing at the age of five and was first noticed in the music talent show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge. On the show, he became Himesh Reshammiya's protege and represented Himesh's Rock Gharana. Himesh even gifted Vineet his trademark lucky cap, which Vineet sported for the rest of the show.

Ever smiling, naughty, focused and always performing impeccably, he was the chosen favorite with the mentors and public alike. Before
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, Vineet had participated in 51 competitions and won 48 out of them. Vineet's debut song in Bollywood was Dil Rang Le, a duet with Sunidhi Chauhan for the film Rocky.

Vineet performed with Himesh Reshammiya in his international concert series,
Aap Ka Surroor in the fall of 2006 with fellow contestant Himani Kapoor. Vineet Singh resurfaced in 2008, as a contestant on the show Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star on STAR Plus.

Like always his performances were stellar and consistent. The judges couldn't stop singing his praises and he was the top scorer every week until he got eliminated the week after he was declared the best singer by Bollywood playback veteran Udit Narayan. In honour of his consistent performances, he was allowed to leave with his star, which was something that was taken away from all the previous contestants after being knocked out of the show.

The son of an engineer, Rahul Vaidya grew up in Mumbai, where he studied music under Suresh Wadekar and entered various child talent competitions including Aao Jhoomein Gaayein.

While he was a Second Year Junior College student in Mithibai College, he participated in Indian Idol (season 1) where he finished third.
Eight months later, he released his debut album Tera Intezar.

He also sang a duet, "Hello Madam, I am your Adam", with fellow Indian Idol runner-up Prajakta Shukre, and "God Promise Dil Dola" with Shreya Ghoshal in the Bollywood film
Shaadi No. 1.

He has done lavish live shows & done concerts all over the world including USA, UAE, Bangladesh and Maldives.
Rahul has lent his voice for several films like Shaadi No. 1, Jigyaasa, Hot Money, and Krazzy 4, amongst others. Recently, Rahul has won the title of Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar on Star Plus.

Sherjil is a Muslim and Sneha is a Hindu. Sneha is a South Indian based in Mumbai.

They feel that there would be opposition from Sneha's family. Both are dancers/choreographers and work together.

Sherjil is also trying his luck in acting. He wants to come on the show to become famous.

They seem to have good chemistry and are confident about their dance ability.

Both Sejal and Kabir are Hindus. Sejal is originally from Gujarat, but her family is settled in London and Kabir is based in Mumbai but his family is from Delhi. They met at a Midday shoot. Kabir is a graphic designer from Delhi.

Sejal is an optometrist but is now based in Mumbai. She's trying her luck in modeling.
Sejals' parents don't know about their relationship.

Her parents are very well off and want her to marry an ideal Gujarati boy settled in UK. They are pessimistic about boys in India. She does not want to tell them about her relationship with Kabir as they have sent her to India to work and they will think that she has lost her focus.

Kabir is very eager to meet her parents and convince them that he will look after her well. At the same time, he wants to surprise his own parents about his participation on the show so he has not informed them and wants his parents to watch them on air.

Jodi No. 9 - Maanaav Sharma & Rashmi Bedi

Both are Punjabi Hindus. They speak Hindi (even a bit of Punjabi) at home. Rashmi's Father is a CID officer and her mother is a housewife. Maanaav's Father is businessman and his mother is housewife.

At present Rashmi is pursuing her studies in Homeopathy from Delhi. She is a trained Kathak dancer and wants to get into acting. She and Maanaav met in Delhi at an audition. He was constantly staring at her, and then he started talking to her. They have been seeing each other for the last one and a half years. Rashmi is based in Delhi but comes to Mumbai often to meet him and spend some time with him.

Parents know that they are the best of friends. He visits her whenever he is in Delhi. Her family members know him well and like him, though they are not aware of their relationship. Rashmi feels that it's the time to focus on their respective careers, but if they do get selected, they'd like their parents to learn of their relationship through the show.

Since caste is no barrier, they feel that their parents would be surprised but would not object. Maanaav is waiting for his sister to get married before talking to his parents about his marriage. According to them if they get selected for the show, their lives will change, would get recognition and stability in the industry.

Kapil and Shivani are Hindus from Himachal Pradesh. Shivani wanted to be a doctor but started acting. She believes that love is all about being very good friends and so feels that Kapil is her best friend. They want to participate in this show because they want to be famous. They met at a film shoot in Himachal. There was a film which was being shot and both Shivani and Kapil went there for an audition.

While Shivani was standing in the line or rehearsing her lines she realized that some one was staring at her. It was Kapil. The moment he set his eyes on her he knew she was the girl he wanted to spend his life with - it was love at first sight. He smiled at her and tried to talk to her without much success.
Kapil’s father was also present, so Kapil told his father about Shivani.

His father tried telling him that he should concentrate on his career. Kapil did not pay much heed to this advice and decided to propose to her. He went back and told his father what he had done. His father tried to reason with him and Kapil told him that he wanted to marry Shivani.

Both Manit and Manika are Hindus (she is a hardcore Punjabi). Maanika's a model and Manit is studying for his MBA. His father's a diamond merchant in Delhi. The met in a Mumbai-Delhi flight where she approached him and they talked all through the flight.

They bumped into each other a couple of time after that before becoming friends and eventually started dating.
Though they've only been seeing each other for less than a year, the story of his proposal is interesting...he proposed to her at the race course (she was there for a modeling assignment) complete with ring, chocolates and going down on his knees. Manika seems to be a bit obsessed with him. She's also very physical and affectionate with him. They both are actors – They met each other on a flight to Delhi.

She could not keep her bag and asked Manit to help her with her luggage. She kept talking to him through out the journey. Manit did not speak much. Once they landed in Delhi they both went off in their directions. When Manit was in Delhi he decided to go for a film with couple of his friends. In one of the restaurants, he spotted Maanika with her friend. So he walked towards the restaurant to check if it was her, the moment she saw Manit she ran towards him and hugged him and asked him were had he disappeared. They then saw the film together and exchanged their numbers. They started talking to each other on the phone.



They both applied for Gladrags and soon maanika told manit that she got a call and that she has cleared the first round at gladrags model hunt competition. On her first day at the competetion she was very nervous and was sitting very quietly, when she saw manit walking towards her with a bunch of red rose and a box of clothes and proposed to her she was overjoyed and accepted the proposal. Manit had also hidden the fact that he too had got through Gladdrags as he wanted to surprise her.

Both Dhawal and Greesha are Hindus (Gujarati), but the problem is that Dhawal is five years her senior.

In fact he was her dance teacher when she was in the 8th standard. The age difference is not acceptable to Greesha's parents.
He is willing to do anything even change his profession (he runs a small time dance academy).

He hopes that her parents change their view after they see them on screen. Greesha's a student and Dhawal earns around 15-20,000 a month. He lives in a joint family and that's another issue with Greesha's mother.

Rezwan is from Rajasthan and Seran is from UK (of Turkish origin). Rizwan's family speaks Marwari at home. They met online and she's now in India living with his family. She's also learning Hindi. Rezwan is Shama Sikandar's brother and has met Seran's family online.

They disagree on where to live after marriage. He doesn't want to settle in the UK, while she's really keen that he shifts. She has left everything and come all the way to India to be with him against her family's advice (especially her mother).

Seran once flew down from England to surprise him on his birthday.

Both Praveen & Kiran are Maharashtrians (Hindu). Praveen's father was a freedom fighter. Kiran's father passed away so she, in a way, sees him as a father figure. She has five sisters and both are from a lower middle class background.

Praveen comes from a very small village and is a graduate in performing arts and Kiran is a trained Kathak dancer. It was love at first sight when Praveen met Kiran while casting for a play (as dancer). He fell in love immediately and proposed marriage. They know each other for about 8 years now.

Jodi No 3 - Neetu Wadhwa & Sunny Bindra

Neetu and Sunny are Punjabi's originally from Delhi, but are now based in Mumbai. Both of them are actors. Neetu's father runs a cosmetics business, while Sunny's father is retired.

Sunny and Neetu first met at a theatre, where he had come to see a play in which Neetu was acting. He was impressed with her performance and after the play he started a conversation with her, which paved the way for their relationship.

Sunny's mother is aware of their relationship, but his father is not. Sunny feels that he will be able to convince his father. Neetu's parents are very happy to know that they are performing together and think that its a big platform for her.

Aslam is a Muslim from Mumbai and Mayuri is a Hindu from Agra. Aslam is into property development and is also an event manager. He has a Masters degree in Commerce and has done his MBA from the US. Mayuri is a Commerce Graduate and has done PGDMC and a Software Development course. She is currently freelancing as a Creative Director in the television Industry. They met in 2001 at an exhibition organized by Aslam in Delhi. Mayuri was a student then and came for promotions.

In the first 5 days of the exhibition Aslam proposed to her and she agreed immediately. Before leaving for the US to pursue his MBA, Aslam went to Agra to meet Mayuri's parents. Mayuri was 19 then and could not tell her parents about Aslam so the meeting never happened.
Aslam then moved to the US and was back after 2 years and during this period they lost touch with each other. Eventually Mayuri got a job and moved to Mumbai and established contact with Aslam once again. Aslam's family is dead against their relationship.

Mayuri's family has begun to accept Aslam, but her mother calls him Amar - a Hindu name - to avoid any social hassles. Mayuri is prepared to covert to get married to Aslam.
Their parents don't know of their participation in the show and they feel that Aslam's parents (even Mayuri's mother) may object.

Jashan is a Sikh and Tahira is a Punjabi Hindu. Tahira is currently pursuing her B.Com. Her Father is property dealer, and mother is a housewife. Jashan has given exams for the third year B.Com. He wants to become a choreographer and Pursue MBA in future. His Father is in Joint registered high court, and mother is also in high court in Punjab-Haryana High Court.

They first met at tuitions and Tahira's first impression of Jashan was that he was very sober, had a great personality and was decent. Both their parents were very happy when they got to know that Jashan and Tahira were participating on this show, as it's a very big platform for them, and they know they are good dancing partners.

Tahira is waiting for Jashan to get settled in life before informing her parents about thier relationship. She thinks they need to be mature enough to disclose it, secondly they both are students and do not work so the time is not suitable. However, their parents do know that they are the best of friends. They feel that their participation in the show will pave the way for their families to meet and things would get easy for them.

Shweta Tiwari is perhaps one of the most popular actresses on Indian television. She was first noticed while playing Khoobsoorat Bahu on stage. Soon her television career was launched with Kaleerein and there was no turning back for this amazing actress.

She went on to play the role of Prerna in the popular soap
Kasautii Zindagii Kay on STAR Plus, for which she has received a few awards too. She has also featured in several commercial advertisements, dance shows (including Nach Baliye), plays and cameos and special appearances in other popular Indian soaps. Shweta has also acted in movies like Abracadabra, Adhoshi, Din-E-Intzaar and a Bhojpuri film called Hamar Saiyyan Hindustani.

Ronit Roy began his career by acting in Jaan Tere Naam, his debut film, which completed a silver-jubilee run in almost every city except Mumbai. He has acted in over thirty films in ten years, but is best known for the characters he plays in two TV soaps, Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Rishab Bajaj in Kasauti Zindagi Kay.


The way people have responded to his portrayal of Bajaj and Mihir is unprecedented. A participant of
Jhalak Dikhla Jaa last year and, more recently, finalist in Yeh Hai Jalwa, Ronit is no stranger to dance or dance based reality shows.

Better known as Savita chachi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Apara Mehta has over 2700 episodes under her belt in Hindi Serials and an even larger number in Gujrati TV serials and Plays. Apara Mehta's career of 25 years is full of rich and varied roles. Though she did Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka before Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Apara's career on TV zoomed with the latter. Apara started her acting career with a Gujarati play called Tan Man Dhan in 1981. In 2000, she was was offered a role in the serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus which made her famous. She has also acted in several Bollywood films like Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Devdas amongst others.

Hosts Of The Show

Judges for the show

The judges for the show are Ronit Roy, Shweta Tiwari and Apara Mehta. Not only will they perform the important task of appraising the contestants' performances, but will also flavour their observations with their distinct personalities.

Ronit RoyShweta Tiwari will provide the point of view of the sceptic who has been through harrowing times and is therefore not inclined to view the world with rose-tinted glasses. Her observations will be sharp, with a distinct anti-male bias and she will not mince words.

Honest and straightforward in his comments, Ronit will focus on the performance aspect of each couple's dance routine, including expression, chemistry and coordination. Episode Structure

The show is biweekly and will be aired on Fridays and Saturdays. The first week will feature performances from all the couples spread over the two days, with appeals for votes.

Thereafter, each Friday episode will have performances by the top three couples, who compete for prizes such as refrigerators, microwave ovens, home theater systems - goods that will come in handy for starting a domestic life together. There will be three compatibility games in which their companionship and commitment will be judged. This will be followed by the elimination of a couple with the least amount of votes.

The Saturday episode will feature dance performances of the contesting couples, with appeals for votes at the end of each performance. Voting will be open from the end of the episode until the next week's Friday episode. Results are calculated by adding votes by viewers and judges. Both are given equal weightage.
